These aren’t just blogs. They’re wake-up calls for the woman who's been showing up for everyone but herself.

MOMent Shifts is where you come when you’re tired of carrying it all and calling it normal. It’s the space where your unraveling isn’t judged, it’s honored. From mirror moments to mindset resets (the real kind, not the fluffy kind), this is where you shift how you see yourself… so you can show up like you were always meant to.

Read something that hit home?

Don’t keep it to yourself, share it with the woman who needs to know she’s not the only one holding it all in.

A woman with her hands clasped in thought, eyes closed, showing the deep process of learning to embrace grace and peace.

Grace in Action: Choosing Peace Over Perfection

April 30, 20254 min read
Grace in Action: Choosing Peace Over Perfection." A mindset shift toward self-kindness and letting go of perfectionism.

What If You Chose Peace Over Perfection?

A warm yellow watercolor splash with the message, "Your best today is enough, even if it looks different from yesterday." A reminder to practice self-kindness.

You’ve spent your whole life trying to get it ‘right.’

Trying to be the best mom. The best employee. The best version of yourself.

But all that trying, fixing, and perfecting? It’s keeping you in a cycle of never feeling like you’re enough.

Here’s the hard truth: Perfection is a moving target.

And chasing it? It’s exhausting.

But what if, instead of striving for perfection, you chose peace?

What if you gave yourself permission to rest, to be enough as you are, to stop proving your worth through overworking and over-giving?

That’s what grace is, it’s the space between expectations and self-acceptance.

And you deserve to live there.

In this post, we’re going to:
✔️ Help you stop striving for an impossible standard.
✔️ Show you how to embrace
progress over perfection.
✔️ Teach you how to choose
peace over proving.

Because you don’t have to earn peace, you just have to choose it.

A golden yellow button with the text, "Yes, I Need This MOMent." A call to action for moms to prioritize themselves and take a necessary pause.

How to Stop Chasing Perfection & Start Choosing Peace

1. Let Go of the “Someday” Trap

How many times have you told yourself:
📌
“Once I have it all together, then I’ll feel better.”
📌
“Once I lose the weight, then I’ll feel confident.”
📌
“Once I get ahead at work, then I’ll finally slow down.”

But here’s the problem, ‘someday’ never comes.

There will always be more to do, more to achieve, more expectations to meet. And if you keep waiting for perfection before allowing yourself peace, you’ll be waiting forever.

💭 What to do instead:
Next time you find yourself thinking,
“I’ll rest when…” stop.

Flip the script:
🔄
“I deserve to rest now.”
🔄
“I don’t need to be perfect to feel good about myself.”
🔄
“I’m allowed to slow down, even if everything isn’t ‘done.’”

Peace isn’t waiting at the finish line. It’s available to you right now.

2. Perfection Is Keeping You Stuck

The desire to be perfect? It’s not motivating you, it’s paralyzing you.

❌ You hesitate to try new things because you don’t want to fail.
❌ You procrastinate on your goals because
what if it’s not good enough?
❌ You avoid resting because
you haven’t ‘earned’ it yet.

But perfection is an illusion. And the more you chase it, the more stuck you become.

💭 What to do instead:
Instead of aiming for perfection, aim for
progress.

📌 Done is better than perfect.
📌 Small steps matter more than flawless execution.
📌 You don’t have to be perfect to be
worthy.

Repeat after me: I am not behind. I am exactly where I need to be.

3. Grace Is a Daily Practice, Not a One-Time Event

You wouldn’t expect a friend to be flawless, so why do you expect it from yourself?

Giving yourself grace isn’t a one-and-done decision; it’s a daily practice.

💭 What to do instead:
Each morning, ask yourself:
🔹
What’s one thing I can release today?
🔹
How can I show myself kindness instead of criticism?
🔹
If my best friend were feeling this way, what would I tell her?

Let grace be part of your routine, not a last resort.

4. Choose Peace, Even When It Feels Uncomfortable

For so long, you’ve been taught that hustling, over-giving, and striving for more is what makes you valuable.

So when you finally slow down? It feels… weird.

You might even feel guilty.

But that’s just because peace is unfamiliar, not wrong.

💭 What to do instead:
When peace feels uncomfortable, remind yourself:
📌
“I don’t have to prove my worth through exhaustion.”
📌
“I deserve ease, even if I’ve never had it before.”
📌
“Peace is my birthright, not something I have to earn.”

The more you choose peace, the more natural it will feel.

The Freedom of Choosing Grace

You were never meant to spend your life chasing impossible standards.

You were meant to live, to rest, to be enough exactly as you are.

Imagine a life where:
✨ You let yourself off the hook without guilt.
✨ You stop over-explaining why you need rest.
✨ You choose peace, even when others expect more from you.

You don’t have to wait for permission. You can choose grace today.
